Kenya Meets usa
Rachel Muchiri, the owner and founder of Kenya Meets USA, was born and raised in Kenya, Africa. Her parents started the family retail business in 1986 and have been in the business for 35 years. As a young girl, Rachel used to work with her parents: when they had orders from clients, she would help them craft the products.
“Being the fifth born in a family of six, we all grew up knowing and liking the business as our parents had started it way before any of us were born” she says. “We witnessed how our parents made ends meet through the business”. Upon completion of high school, Rachel who had already developed a passion for entrepreneurship, joined her parents and started attending trade fairs around Nairobi, Kenya selling their products.
Upon moving to the United States of America, Rachel decided to continue with her family business and, to celebrate the origin of the product, renamed it “Kenya Meets USA”. She wanted to bring Kenyan culture to the United States and enhance people’s lives through creativity and innovation.
The products are handmade in Nairobi, Kenya, with love, and shipped to the United States. Kenya Meets USA brings to the US market quality artifacts, jewelry, leather products, keychains, and banana fiber products on Kenyan-inspired themes. From beaded statement jewelry pieces that showcase the continent’s incredible craftsmanship to minimalist charms that capture Savannah’s allure, adorn yourself in Kenya’s sensational cultural and natural heritage.
