“I started the business in 2017, at a difficult moment in my life,” says Elizabeth French, the maker behind Jamberry Jewels. “Mining for local minerals became quite therapeutic.” Elizabeth became accustomed to getting lost in the woods and using sledgehammers to break open rocks. As she was breaking rocks, she was finding stunning crystals called Herkimer Diamonds–uncovering the beautiful crystals that had been hidden in the ground for 300 million years. A special education teacher by trade, Elizabeth started making and wearing jewelry with the newly-found crystals that her students admired with great interest. She later realized that those crystals helped some of her students with special needs and started taking them along on her journeys. A self-taught silversmith, Elizabeth started participating in local markets and growing her business from the ground up. Jamberry Jewels Co. is committed to ethical, sustainable harvesting and sourcing of minerals, and transparent pricing.
